It reign for
two seasons now and everyone can see that Kano Pillars is solid. Despite the
raging stampedes of the people’s elephant, Enyimba of Aba last season, the
northern pillars remain unshakeable champions of Glo Premier League for the
second year running.
Ten other players and the backroom staff were given N500, 000 and N700, 000 each respectively for their efforts.

is one team that has enjoyed support from the state government and people of
Kano. Where as most stadium in Nigeria are empty during NPFL games, Sani Abacha
Stadium continue to bobble with spectators. You may well say that the city of
Kano is vulnerable to Boko Haram attack, yet the 18, 000 capacity stadium always
get filled up each time Kano Pillars play their home game.
Indeed,
sport marketers couldn’t have overlooked such overwhelming support. The Italian
sport wear company, Kappa, has moved to sign US$1 million deal with the club,
being facilitate by GSport Consult in Dubai.
Kano Pillars will be putting on Kappa brand of Jersey for the next 3
years.
Kano Pillars
shirt sponsors, BUA, is also making move to extend its partnership deal with
the club for the next 5 years. With such
deal, BUA is sure to enjoy a lot of goodwill from Kano community and massive
media exposure to football fans, not only in Nigeria but across the African
continent.
Kano Pillars
will be playing in CAF Champions league again, but this time, Governor Kwankwason
plan to extend the club’s reign to African frontiers.
The club
management will ever be grateful to the former coach, Baba Gana, who may have
taken Kano Pillars so far, but the governor has decided to strengthen the team
by hiring three Italian tacticians to take the team to the next level. All
salaries and expenses of the coaches will be paid by GSport.
Kano Pillars
is also signing some of the best legs in Nigerian football today – five players
from the troubled Heartland, one from Sunshine and one from 3SC, which recently
went on relegation to the National League. Well, you can’t blame the players
since milk and honey has started to flow in Kano Pillars.
