Odion Ighalo Rock with His Orphanage Children in Lagos Suburb
Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo put aside his scoring boots to put smiles on the faces of children at his orphanage in Lagos.

The Shanghai Shenhua of China striker who is currently on holidays in Nigeria was present at the Ighalo Orphanage Home located in Ijegun, a suburb of Lagos, during the occasion which also doubled as the orphanage’s 2nd Anniversary celebrations.

The orphanage which houses more than 50 children with separate apartments for boys and girls was launched two years ago and has continued to bring succour to the less privileged and neglected children.

Children at the orphanage where showered with several gifts and had great fun with Ighalo who retired from international duty after emerging the highest goalscorer with five goals at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt last June.

"We started the orphanage with God’s grace and we have continued by His grace. We do this yearly to give gratitude to God who is ever able as our slogan is,” Ighalo said.

“Christmas is a period that reminds us of God’s gift and it feels good to share His gifts with others by taking care of not only our family but the less privileged as well.”

Another Eagles star who have shown love during Christmas celebrations is Villarreal of Spain forward, Samuel Chukwueze.

The 20-year old wing sensation had also visited Casa Ronald Charity in Spain before Christmas where he gave out gifts to many children.

Both Ighalo and Chukwueze shared their experiences on their Twitter handles.
