Hello, I guess you just lost your phone or otherwise, you want to gain knowledge...you want to know what you need to do if you eventually loose your phone, especially if it is stolen. I can assure you will find it if you decide to take this very important step. Then, you may decide to put the thief into real trouble.

I know this isn't about football, but you see a lot of enquiries from people who visit this blog drove me to write this article. And I hope it will be a kind of help or solution to you if your phone is stolen.

 Let me sound it as a note of warning to you first...

[

WARNING: If you find a phone lying somewhere, you better leave it and go your way or pick it up and immediately take it to the police station. You may be in real trouble if you decide to keep it.

 Second, don't ever buy a phone from a taut or even a dealer without a receipt! The seller may have stolen the phone and can put you in big trouble].

I know how it feels when you loose your phone. I lost a phone I bought N95k in just two weeks. As I was getting into a public bus in Computer Village Ikeja Lagos, the fast guys picked the phone from my pocket. Was that your experience too?

Losing a phone is something that can bring panic to you, especially if it was stolen. This is because phones contain some of our very personal details, and some of these details can be used to carry out some fraudulent acts on you.

One of the ways your phone can be used against you is; the person who stole the phone might send a message to your loved ones asking for urgent transfer of money. Some do this when they do not have access into your bank details. However, if they do, they do not need to contact anyone, all they do is to make use of your sim card to take all the money in your bank account.

In this article, I would be highlighting 3 key things you should do immediately your phone gets stolen from you. At least to save your money in the bank and your reputation with your friends and relationships.

The 4th thing you need to do will help you find your phone and retrieve it from the thief or their cohorts.

1. Block Your SIM Card: The first thing to do is to make a call to your network provider, give them your phone number, and ask them to block your sim card. This is very easy especially when you have the pack in which your sim card came in when you purchased it. They would also ask you some questions only you are conversant with before they can go on to block your sim card for you.

2. Restrict Your Bank Account: Call your account manager and request that he/she restrict your bank account. If you do not have the phone number of your account manager all you need to do is to go quickly to the bank. There you would inform the customer service agent about what happened, and the necessary measure to secure your account would be taken.

3. Retrieve Your SIM Card: One other thing you can possibly do to ensure that the person who stole your phone doesn’t use your SIM card to take money from your account is to retrieve your SIM. Once you retrieve your SIM, you would be in full control of your contact and you can make the next necessary step to secure yourself further.

To Find your phone or to destroy the phone's panel, take this two steps;

4. Get Police to Track Your Phone: You should take the pack of your phone which was stolen and write down the IMEI number which is clearly written on the pack your phone came in when you bought it. With these IMEI number, you would be able to track the person who stole the phone. You can go over to the police station with the number and other details of the stolen phone.

The police will track the phone, no matter where it is, in or outside the country where it was stolen from. With help of the police, you can trace the thief and arrest him or her.

5. Utterly Destroy the Phone: Here is what you do. but you must have the serial number. or IMEI number of the phone. From another phone write a text message containing only the serial number or IMEI number of the stolen phone. Then, send it to the same serial number or IMEI number of the stolen phone.

Second, download "anti-theft" software or Find a device App. It relays a message to an optional phone number with options of what u want to do to the stolen phone to renders it useless,not even flashing can bring it back to life.
