FALCONETS’ MATCH FIXTURES FOR 2014 FIFA U-20 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: Nigeria Dream High!




 The 7th edition of FIFA under 20 Women’s World Cup will kick off on August 5 and run up till 24th in Canada. Ghana and Nigeria will be representing Africa in the tournament; after both countries qualified from 2014 African U-20 Cup of Nations for Women earlier in the year.

Nigeria U-20 team nicknamed, the Falconets, will be competing in Group C, along side England, South Korea and Mexico.

The Falconets will be playing their first two games in Moncton Stadium, which has a normal capacity of 10, 000; but could be expanded to accommodate 20, 000 people, if match attendance exceeds expectations.

The Falconets will be facing Mexico and South Korea respectively in its first two games. Then the final Group match against England will be played in the Commonwealth Stadium, which has 60, 081 capacities.

The fixtures gladdened the heart of the coaching staff. The falconets are very optimistic that they will qualify from the group and go all out to win the tournament.

Head Coach of Nigeria U-20 team, Peter Dedevbo, said: “It isn’t an impossible task! My team is fit and ready to go. We’re very confident that we can produce the kind of result that would marvel the whole world.”

“We’ll take it one match at a time. The Falconets believe they can grind out good result against Mexico and South Korea, so the final Group match becomes mere formality.” John Aggrey, a sport analyst in Nigeria extrapolated. See the Falconets Group C fixtures below:
