Regardless
of whether pre-season tournament matters anything, it’s important to Manchester
United supporters and they needed to get some kind of re-assurance from the
club’s new manager, Luis Van Gaal. Not that the Dutchman managerial ability is
in doubt in anyway, but David Moyes failure to manage the team to any kind of victory last season came
as a rude shock to the club’s fans across the world.
Although, so
many of the supporters are still ruing the fact that Man-U will not be
participating in the season’s UEFA Champions League, but the pre-season defeat
of European champions, Real Madrid and English Premiership runner up, Liverpool
at International champions cup final in USA seem to restore some kind of hope
to them – that Van Gaal is capable of returning the club back to its winning
ways.
It may also
put to rest the question of whose feet could fit into the big shoes Sir Alex
Ferguson left behind as manager of Manchester United. Ferguson won EPL title 13
times, became runner up 5 times and placed third 3 times. He also won the UEFA
Champions League trophy and made Man-U the wealthiest and the largest number of
fans across the world.
Well, Van
Gaal has an equal record so to say. He is a more versatile manager who had
moved from Dutch league to Spanish La Liga and to German Bundesliga… And anywhere he goes, he turns out to be a
success. He had won almost everything you can think of in club football. He is
one of the best in the world, if not the very best in the trade today. View Van
Gaals Record:

Liverpool
manager, Brendan Rodgers, has however reminded Van Gaal that pre-season Victory
doesn’t count for anything when English premiership kick-off on August 16, 2014.
EPL is quite a different ball game from Spanish La Liga or German Bundesliga,
where Van Gaal excelled in the past years.
