EMEM EDUOK, THE BEST AT HOME IN NIGERIA: Footballers Price Tag, US$ 1Million

Emem Eduok, Dolphin FC of Port Harcourt star striker, is probably the best sage in the domestic scene right now in Nigeria. The footballer who shone like a thousand stars in the recent  international friendly match against Ghana, may have written his name in the books of history as the player who scored the first ever goal in the new Akwa Ibom International stadium Uyo.

Eduok scored 24 goals this season and broke into the star studded strike force of Nigeria National team – Super Eagles. He featured in AFCON qualifiers matches against Congo in Calabar and Sudan in Khartoum.

The tall heavily built striker has skills only comparable to that of Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s very athletic, with incredible drive and eye for goals. Already, clubs like CSKA Moscow, Real Mallorca, and Ajax are showing interest.

Dolphin management has gone ahead to place a price tag of US$ 1 Million on him. General Manager of the Port Harcourt based club, Joe Johnson said this is a very realistic price tag for their star striker.

“I’m not too sure he has a match right now and if we can get those who are really serious, then one million US Dollars won’t be a bad idea.”

Johnson added that after scoring 24 goals in all competitions this season and broke into Super Eagles team, which has predominantly foreign based professionals and more established players; Eduok is worth every single Cent of the one million dollars price tag.

“It’s not an easy feat doing what he did. If you watch him play, you will see that the drive is there, the commitment is there and he is one player who is interested in scoring goals” Johnson applauded.

Eduok joined Dolphins from Akwa United for NGN 1.5 million, at the start of the 2010/11 season. He won the Nigeria premier league title in his first season with the club. He had been nominated four time this year for the League Bloggers Award (LBA) and won the award in October as the best player in NPFL.

“Since his arrival here, we have seen a steady improvement in his game and I think he is now ready to move on to the big stage, probably in Europe. Some Agents and Scouts has approached the club making several kind of inquiries as to the status of the player and we have told them what our price tag is…” Johnson concluded

The management of Dolphins Football club of Port Harcourt says any club that needs the services of Emem Eduok should be ready to come up with one million United States Dollars.
