Enyimba international Football Club of Aba may have narrowly lost the Glo Premier League title to champions Kano Pillars, but the People’s Elephant were massively voted for by popular side fans, as the best team in all round competitions in Nigeria this season 2014.

Super-four Tournament
Enyimba started off in the season by clinching the 2013/14 pre-season tournament, Super four, after a 1 – 0 win over league champions Kano Pillars. The People’s Elephant, as the team is fondly called, maintained unbeaten run in the traditional curtain-raiser tournament that ushers in the Glo Premier League.

Glo Premier League
Glo Premier League is become a two horse race since the past three seasons; with Kano Pillars winning 3 consecutive league titles and Enyimba always on their heels as strong contender.

Enyimba was so outstanding this season that most popular side fans predicted that the Aba side would come tops with massive +23 goals advantage, but kano Pillars edged them out again with 65 to 64 points on the final league table.

Federations Cup
Enyimba may have mastered the act of Federation cup and has won the trophy for 2 consecutive years now. The People’s Elephant dismissed Dolphins of 1 – 0 to win the title again this year 2014.

The nature of Federations cup is such that big teams like Kano Pillars, Rangers International, Sharks… find it difficult to make expected impact, but Enyimba has mastered the act of moving on and taking down any opponent that comes on in the competition.

CAF Champions League
Enyimba as well as Kano Pillars were ouster early in the CAF Champions league preliminaries stage this year, but if the Aba side continue to improve in its current form, we can be rest assured the team will put up a strong contention for the trophy.

Enyimba’s team manager, Anyasi Agwu said that all mistakes the team made in their last CAF Champions league will be corrected. “We’re going for the trophy next season.”

Nigeria’s most Successful Football Club
Unarguably, Enyimba is Nigeria’s most successful football club of all time. The club has earned the reputation as one of Africa’s football powerhouse.

With two CAF  champions league trophies, six Nigeria Premier League titles and eight federations cup trophies, the People’s Elephant is currently ranked 27th in the 2014 CAF Clubs Rankings.
