John Mikel Obi Go for the Big Money in China: Sign £140k A Week Deal with Tianjin TEDA
Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has Completed his signing with the Chinese Super League club - Tianjin TEDA.
As the time of publishing this post, we are not sure what the sign-on fees is.
But the Nigerian underwent a medical yesterday and pictures emerging on social media this morning suggest a deal has been finalised.
Neither club have officially confirmed the transfer, but according to the Daily Mail, Mikel has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him earn £140,000 a week.
The 29-year-old has been with the Blues since 2006, but fell out of favour under Antonio Conte with the midfielder not playing a single minute since the Italian arrived at Stamford Bridge.
He fell down the pecking order with N'Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas all competing for midfield spots in Conte's 3-4-3 system.
John Mikel Obi won the Champions League with Chelsea.
During his time with Chelsea Mikel won the Champions League, two Premier League titles and four FA Cups.
Mikel is the latest Chelsea player to complete a move to the Far East after the Blues sold Oscar to Shanghai SIPG for a record breaking fees of £52m last month.
