Coach of the Year Winner Imman Amapakabo SACKED, Something Goes Wrong With Enugu Rangers this Season
Enugu Rangers may be following the script of Leicester City in the Premier League, from being League Champions in 2016 to now struggling to survive relegation waters. And Head Coach Imman Amapakabo must be made the Scapegoat. Like Claudio Raneri, Imman who won the 2016 Coach of the year Award, could easily be seen as the worst coach in Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) 2017 season - what an Irony?
Enugu Rangers has to sack its head coach, Imama Amapakabo after some strings of poor result. The flying Antelopes have endured a torrid season so far winning just three of its 14 matches in NPFL.
They currently occupy the last position on the league table though they still have three outstanding games.
2016 NPFL Champions has also crashed out of the CAF Champions League and also on the verge of elimination from the CAF Confederations cup.
They were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Zambian side, Zesco United with the second leg on Sunday.
Following the result, the club has announced it has told Amapakabo to step aside.
“I want to inform you that Rangers have told Imama to step aside because of our unimpressive results which reached its height with our 2-2 draw at home to Zesco United,” the club’s media officer, Foster Chime told newsmen .
”He was served his letter on Monday morning. The management of the club had a crucial meeting after the game on Sunday and it was there the decision was taken."
