Arsenal have entered negotiations with KAS Eupen to sign Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru, according to reports.
ESPN claim that the Gunners are considering the option of activating the 19-year-old’s £6.8 million release clause in order to snap up one of Europe’s most in-demand young forwards.
Onyekuru has scored 24 goals in 41 appearances this season and finished as the joint top scorer in the Belgian top flight.
Southampton and Everton have also reportedly registered their interest and have sent scouts to monitor the striker this term.
Onyekuru has impressed in the Belgian top flight this season and would offer Arsenal a versatile option in attack as he’s able to play on either flank, as well as a central striker.
Last month, the forward confirmed that he will switch clubs this summer.
‘I have made my decision to leave. I have already agreed with Eupen that I am joining my new club after this season,’ he said.
