Nigeria will begin their qualifying campaign for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a Group E home fixture against perennial rivals, Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Saturday June 10, 2017, at the 36,000 capacity  Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Nigeria Super Eagles on A Winning Spree
Super Eagles of Nigeria team is in high spirit and in good form after their training camp in France where they played  1 - 1 draw against Corsica and beat Togo 3 - 0 in their warm up matches. May seems ready to continue their winning spree from the world cup qualifiers first leg away match against Zambia 1 - 2 and home win against Algeria 3 - 1

Although, Nigeria's mesmerising playmaker and Chelsea rejuvenated star, Victor Moses, who scored in the last game against Algeria, will not be available for this one.

Also Captain of the Nigerian side and former Chelsea star, John Mikel Obi is not available too... And other key players like former Watford Striker, Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye now playing in China Super League.

However, non-availability of these key players does not in anyway weaken the Super Eagles from soaring... Propel by young enterprising stars like Kelechi Iheanacho (Man City), Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa of Leicester expect nothing less than a team firing from all cylinders.

Henry Onyekuru, Belgium League highest goal scorer and Kayode Olarewaju, Austria League highest goal scorer may be debuting for Super Eagles in this match.

Super Eagles Head coach and German tactician, Gernot Rohr said:
"We're gradually getting into the next phase of building what may be Africa's most formidable team of all time. The Super Eagles players are coming up well in the build up. Hopfully Nigeria fans would be seeing a delightful team they will all be proud of."

We also remember the passing away of Nigeria's most accomplished captain and coach, Stephen Keshi, who died of heart attack on June 6, 2016

A Snoop on  South Africa's Current Squad
Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet returns to the squad for the first time since the 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea.

Mamelodi Sundowns five representatives in the squad, while there four players from Kaizer Chiefs in Itumeleng Khune, Lorenzo Gordinho, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Eric Mathoho.

Bongani Zungu makes a return to the national team alongside Andile Jali, Keagan Dolly and Kamohelo Mokotjo.

Aerial strength was the major priority for Baxter as he admits they tried to spread it around the team to put on a good showing against the Super Eagles.

"I'm pleased with the squad we have assembled. We have a small element of development with a couple of young players. We also have some players who are returning to the squad like Zungu and Rantie. We have players who have been outstanding in the PSL the whole season. We also have continuity with a number of players that Safa has invested much time in and we have them in the team. I believe we have a good mix," Baxter told the media.

"We have also looked at aerial strength and tried to spread that well throughout the team. It means if we can have good preparation before we go, then we have a squad that is capable of giving Nigeria a good game," Baxter said.
