Neymar's Delusion Overshadows Kelechi Iheanacho At the Week

Neymar junior pull €222 million deal with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) over the week. A world record  signing I think, won't be broken for a long time. It's beyond any kind of rationality really said Arsene Wenger, Arsenal's manager.

Neymar emotional farewell to Barca teammates on Wednesday and PSG Signing on Thursday August 3rd, went viral online with a record 1.2 billion hits in 48 hours. Just a typing of "N" on Google search engine, for instance, will pop up "Neymar's story" - an irresistible grandeur, more like a delusion than for real. For one player to earn an amount able to assemble a top flight squad....an amount most clubs don't possess to trade in the transfer market.

While Neymar Junior's signing may have overshadowed Kelechi Iheanacho's long lingering transfer talk with Leicester City. The Nigerian golden boy finally pulled £25 million deal with the Foxes over the week too.

Iheanacho's signing may not go anywhere near Neymar jackpot, but both signing has something significantly in common - they are both record breaking signing. while Neymar broke the world record signing set by Paul Pogba deal with Manchester United last summer,... Iheanacho broke the record  of £20 million set by Odion Ighalo, as the most expensive Nigerian player ever.

Although, the world media attention was on Neymar, not even our local sports news programs or publications in Nigeria barely reported Iheanacho liberation from Pep Guardiola's victimization. Iheanacho's signing is a victory for Super Eagles and Nigerian as a whole.

Nigeria fans should be happy that Iheanacho didn't have to go through what John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses went through during the management of Jose Mourniho at Chelsea. It's a new beginning for Kelechi Iheanacho, hopefully this season, he will make an enviable mark at Leicester city.
