Pinnick polled a total of 34 out of 44 votes, while former NFF boss Maigari had eight and Ogunjobi had just two votes.

The 45-year-old administrator becomes the first to be re-elected as the country's football association boss. Pinnick was initially elected into the office of the NFF in September 2014 - beating Dominic Iorfa, Abba Yola and Taiwo Ogunjobi to the seat.

Amaju Pinnick was reportedly told by the Federal Government to step down from his current position as the Nigeria Football Federation president. This is according to a statement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports which is under current Nigeria's Sports Minister Solomon Dalung.

he statement from the Ministry of Sports restored the orders of the Federal High Court setting aside the election into the Executive Committee of the NFF held on September 30, 2014 which brought in Amaju Pinnick.

Sports Minister Solomon Dalung made it clear through his media aide Nneka Ikem Anibeze that he has been ordered by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to stop Amaju Pinnick from parading himself as the NFF boss.
