Anthony Joshua Brings Under Armour Kits to Nigeria
When it comes to sportswear market in Nigeria, it is more of a two horse race between Nike and Adidas brand. Both big weight in world sportswear industry has interchanged in the supply of kits for Nigeria national teams over the years. So it isn't a surprise that majority of Nigerian sportswear consumers would either prefer Nike or Adidas range of kits.
Recently, a local competitor Owu sportswear has been penetrating the market through the domestic leagues and grassroots sports events in the country.
But Nigerians love for Anthony Joshua has brought the Under Armour sportswear brand to the fore. Most of the upcoming boxers in Nigeria now prefer to use the American kit for training and for fashion.
Anthony Joshua is a British professional boxer from Nigeria descend. He is currently a unified world heavyweight champion, holding three of the four major championships in boxing: the IBF title since 2016, the WBA title since 2017, and the WBO title since 2018.
Anthony Joshua endorsement of Under Armour has push the Baitimore kits company to an exceptional brand awareness in the Nigerian market.
