What Will Super Eagles Become In the Next Three Years 2022 - In the Hands of Gernot Rohr

Well, I don't foresee NFF sacking or replacing Gernot Rohr as Super Eagles head coach, at least in the next three years (2022) or what do you think?

You'll agree with me that Rohr has earned all the accolades and his contract extension as Head Coach of Nigeria national team, Super Eagles.

The German tactician came to Nigeria in 2017 with a rather humble resume after having an unsuccessful run with Niger republic national team. And his employment to handle Super Eagle was actually circumstantial, He wasn't the first choice for the job. It was after Sunday Oliseh resigned and the French man Herman turned down the job that it became available to him.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the last two African cup of nations (afcon) 2015 and 2017,  following the controversy that led to Stephen Keshi sack after 2014 world cup in Brazil. Then the form of Super Eagles began to steep with spite of poor results.

Rohr was mandated to rebuild the team back to winning ways.., to qualify Nigeria for 2018 world cup and 2019 Afcon. And he has met both targets... leading Super Eagles to the 2nd round  in 2018 world cup in Russia and finished 3rd place at the 2019 afcon in Egypt.

In rebuilding the team, Rohr brought in a lot of young players of Nigeria descend playing across Europe. And many excuses were made for the team being young and marturing. But by 2022, most of these players will be in their peak age, late 20s and early 30s.  So the question is, What will Super Eagles become in the next three years 2022?

 "Itwould be wonderful to mould this young team towards the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and with the experience we’ve had from Russia 2018, we can do much better at the next World Cup." Rohr stated in an interview with our correspondent.

“We missed only few minutes of experience in our game against Argentina in Russia and I think we deserve another chance at the FIFA World Cup; and then to go very far.

“My ambition is to stay very young; give something back to the young players. I have my secrets which I won’t tell you (general laughter).”

Will Super Eagles become the best team in Africa? Win Afcon in 2021 and get to World Cup Semi Finals in Qatar 2022? Well, Rohr has shown he is man meet targets. But there will be no more excuse as Nigerian fans expect the team to evolve and become far better than it is today.
