Who is Your Nigeria Footballer of the Year 2019? Popular-Side Award [Vote Nominees]

For 5 years going, GreenHunters Sports International have allowed fans vote their own version of Nigeria football player of the year - in the social media platform called "Popular-Side Award."

Though unofficial, Popular-Side Awards have become so popular among the social media football fans in Nigeria, recording over a million voter in 2018 alone.

This does not in anyway counter the official NFF organized Nigeria Football Awards rather it gives it credibility and more acceptability.. Although, it sometimes question the rationale behind the choice of the award winner .

We at GreenHunters Sports International feel that fans are the real consumers of the sport and therefore in a better position to make the choices themselves.

For this year award, we have spoken to several sports journalists and football analysts that helped come up with these nominees below:
1. Odion IIghalo
2. Wilfred Ndidi
3. William Troost Ekong
4. Victor Oshimen
5. Samuel Chukwueze

1. Odion Ighalo, who has retired from international football was top scorer at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt with five goals.

2. Wilfred Ndidi, who made his 100th Premier League appearance for Leicester City on Saturday has enjoyed a fine season with Foxes with two goals in 12 games. He has also become a stalwart for the Nigeria national team, Super Eagles.

3. William Troost Ekong, who recently extended his contract for Udinese in Seria A, has been a great pillar that hold the defense for both club and Nigeria national team, Super Eagles. His contributions makes him stand out in the pack.

4. Victor Osimhen who has been courted by a number of European big guns has enjoyed a great start to his career at French club, Lille where he has scored seven goals in 13 league appearances.

5. Samuel Chukwueze, showed lots of skills at the top flight, playing in Laliga for Villareal and at the 2019 African cup of nations, playing with Super Eagles of Nigeria ...which attract Jay Z's management to sign the young Nigerian... seeing him as the next Messi
