Former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen is set to replace Bitrus Bewarang as the Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation our correspondence revealed.

Informed sources at the Nigeria Football Federation’s Sunday Dankaro Secretariat revealed that the 1994 AFCON winner as a player was due in Abuja Monday for documentation after he had agreed on terms and resumption date with the football ruling body

Eguavoen who has coached almost all categories of the Nigerian national teams with the exception of the women teams, was given the job after the football body’s first choice Emmanuel Amuneke turned down the offer over monetary terms disagreement.

We have offered the Technical Department Director’s job to Austin Eguavoen and this time, we are happy that he accepted the job, as well as our terms and period of the contract. We are expecting him in Abuja on Monday to finalize things and possibly for unveiling

“Eguavoen had the required qualifications to head the department and he proved to be very knowledgeable about the job. He also accepted the salary and allowances we offered him, and hopefully, it becomes effective as soon as he signs the documents this week” our source divulged.

The Edo state born coach began his coaching career with Sliemena Wanderers in Malta. He later coached Black Leopards in South Africa before stints with Enyimba International, Sharks FC, Bendel Insurance, Adamawa United as well as managing Super Eagles, U-23 Eagles, and U-17 national teams.
