Randy Waldrum Has Expressed His Desire to Remain As Super Falcons Head Coach and Nigerians Say Yes! What About NFF?

Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum has expressed his desire to remain in charge of Super Falcons of Nigeria.

The American had a bitter fight with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in the build-up to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Waldrum criticised his employers in two separate interviews and was saved from sack by the sports ministry.

The Super Falcons’ impressive performance in Australia and New Zealand has now put the 66-year-old in a strong position to retain his job.

His team was eliminated in the Round of 16 but caught the eyes with their superb displays.

Waldrum said he remains interested in the job but has no control over his future.

“I am proud of my team. I want to stay with this team and continue working towards the Olympics. But that is not a matter for me to decide,” he said after the game.

Nigerians have told the Nigeria Football Federation – NFF to keep Randy Waldrum as Head Coach of the Super Falcons after what most say was a ‘ good ‘ show at the Women’s World Cup.

The coaching input to Super Falcons showing at the world cup was so claring. We can all atest that the coaching had done a great job and deserve to be retained.

American born Coach Randy Waldrum’s future as the Super Falcons Head Coach will be subject of debate after the teams 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup last-16 exit.

Nigeria fell 2-4 on penalties to England after a goalless 120 minutes of action at the Lang Park in Brisbane Australia on Monday August 7.

Prior to the last-16 game, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau had announced the Federation will take decision on Waldrum’s future after the World Cup.

The American Born Coach in his post match interview after the loss to England said he wants to stay with the Super Falcons with his sights set on the Paris Olympics.
