It is simple as A-B-C. if you put on green and white to the stadium on a match day, you may be allowed to join Nigeria football Supporters Club to enjoy all the thrills that goes on with supporting Nigeria national teams to victory.

By the way, the chairman, Rauf Ladipo said the name is ‘Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club’ and their goal is to cheer ‘Team Nigeria’ to victory in any sporting event. It’s part of their function to mobilize Nigerian fans and get them to sit together in large numbers to give that ripple effects. So you are wholly welcome to join Nigeria football supporters club.

But the fact is, joining the supporters club to cheer the national team on a match day doesn’t make you a member. There are procedure you must follow to register and get accepted.

Beyond the passion, beyond the game of football, there are great deal of opportunities you can benefit from if you become a member of the supporters club:

It gives you the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, where Nigeria team is participating in a sporting event.

Such travels to sporting events around the world also create other opportunities of making friends globally and establishing international business contacts.

You’ll become an important stakeholder and be vitally connected to people that matters in Nigerian sports.
Indeed, your Membership identification card grants you access (Free Entry) into any stadium in Nigeria and you are treated as VIP anywhere you go.

It isn’t mere passion anymore, you can now support the national team and still enjoy other great benefits that are associated with football. It’s unfortunate really, not many people know that membership in Nigeria football supporters club can empower an average Nigerian fan in such a way he or she may not have imagined.

One of the members of the supporters club, Emmanuel Okpodu, told me how he  got a foot wear line-of-credit worth $200, 000 by just meeting  the Manager of a big manufacturing firm in the stadium during Golden Eaglets U-17 FIFA World cup in UAE.

I also read Peter Essien’s article of how a couple who went with the supporters club to 2010 World cup in South Africa came back to Nigeria and returned to South Africa 4 months later. It happened that while at the World cup, they were able to establish a good social connection with a family in south Africa.

It’s easy to become a registered member of Nigeria Football Supporters Club. You’re welcome to join at what level you think you can fit in and operate effectively. You can register as an ordinary member with option to upgrade at anytime you desire to become an International member.

Ordinary membership grade grants you automatic access to any event the supporters club is participating within the country and or probably around West African sub-region, where the supporters can travel by road.

International membership grade is more of where you can be assured of traveling abroad anytime the club is going outside the country to support the national team.

The difference is about your own financial ability to commit to the payment of a yearly dues of N50, 000 for International members and you can afford to sponsor a large percentage of your travel expenses.

Well in some cases where the supporters club get a sponsor(s), some ordinary members may be selected to travel with the others, especially the active members, instrumentalists and human mascots. It’s fun all the same, no matter at what level you are registered.

You can pick up your form at Nigeria Football Supporters Club HQ: 22 Mabo Street, Off Randel Road, Surulere Lagos Nigeria or Nigeria Football Supporters Club Cabin, National Stadium complex, Garki Abuja.
