Post Match Analysis – IRAN Vs NIGERIA
The high expectations of Nigerians were dashed after their team, Super Eagles, drew 0 – 0 with Iranian national team in the on-going FIFA World Cup Group F match in Brazil on Monday, June 16, 2014. Most Nigerian fans expected their team to run over Iran by at least 2 – 0 and gain the 3 points at stake, but that didn’t happen.

Many of the fans said that the match was so boring that produced the first draw after 12 matches in the on-going tournament. But if the game was that boring, it wasn’t the fault of Super Eagles, which showed so must tenacity, but the Persian Lions decided or if I should say, couldn’t come out of their den for fear of the Eagles invasion.

The whole eleven players of the Iranian side just stayed put in their own half and deflected every pass, shot or moves made by the Nigerian side. It was indeed a difficult match for Super Eagles, who couldn’t broke down the defensive blocks built by the Iranian team.

This was the reason many Nigerian fans felt so disappointed.  Iran seems to be the easiest opponent in Group F and Super Eagles had just blown the chance of gaining 3 points from the Asian team.

Pre-Match Analysis – NIGERIA VS Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia’s team had shown in their first game against Argentina, that they are a very tactically organized side.  They have a well balanced team from the defense to the attacking line.

Safet Susic tutored side is favored to progress with Argentina to the second round, but their match against Nigeria on Saturday, June 21, by 11pm, will be the decider for both Bosnia and Nigeria. If Bosnia loose, they are out of the World cup and if Nigeria draw, their chances become very dicey.

As it is looking now, Argentina may just have a free ride to the top of Group F, but first, let us see how they could unlock the Iranian defensive barricade on Saturday June 21, by 5pm.

What to Expect?
Well, if the match between Iran Vs Nigeria was very boring, I can assure you that Nigeria Vs Bosnia wouldn’t be boring at all. I can assure you that because both countries need a win in the match and I do not foresee any of the team playing defensive. Unless, off-course, there’s an early goal and the team that first scored stay back to defend it.

Edwin Dzeko Scored Against Argentina

Expect fire power! The reason is this, the strength of the Nigerian team is in the front line and Bosnia has some very dangerous attackers in Edwin Dzeko and Vedad Ibisevic. So I see both teams tending to unleash their attacking prowess on each other.

Something Going For Nigeria
Many analysts had faulted the tactics Stephen Keshi, the Nigerian coach, adopted in the match against Iran; 4-2-3-1, which allowed Iranian players to over crowd his die-hard attacking machine, Emmanuel Emerike, and rendered him ineffective in the game; then the over use of long passes, which the Iranian defense line found so easy to cut-out.

But something that went well for the Nigerians was how easy they won the ball back from their opponent. The ball winning skills of John Mikel Obi, Ogeniyi Onazi, and Rammon Azeez gave Nigeria the edge to control the entire game. Little wonder Mikel got the man-of-the-match.

John Mikel Obi, Man-of-the-match Against Iran

Again, if the Nigerian midfielders find enough space to connect with the attack in the game against Bosnia, then we could see such a new attacking revelation in the combination between Emmanuel Emernike, Shola Ameobi and Osaze Odenwingie.

Keshi may have to personally drill Victor Moses to become more effective creative play maker for the Super Eagles.

Hey, watch out for a transformed Super Eagles in the Match:
