Fanendo Adi's New Goal Record, Set Portland Timbers on Top of MLS Table

Fanendo Adi set Portland Timbers on top of MLS table with 13 points, after defeat of Philadelphia Union 3 - 1 on Sunday.

The Nigerian star became the top scorer in Portland Timbers' history after his 88th minute penalty kick shattered Timbers’ 35-year goal record held by Scottish playmaker John Bain with 45 goals, to set a new club landmark of 46 goals.

Darlington Nagbe started the comeback for Caleb Porter's men after Haris Medunjanin had put the visitors ahead 26 minutes into the game.

Roy Miller connected well with a Diego Valeri free-kick in the 66th minute to give the Timbers a 2-1 lead before Fanendo Adi beautifully converted from the spot-kick, to increase his tally to five goals in six league games this season.
