Soccer Stars Project Is Coming Next to Your City - After A Successful 3 Days Scouting Program In Lagos Nigeria
The soccer star scouting project finally kicked off on Wednesday August 21 at the Former national Stadium Surulere Lagos.
The scouts from Fulham FC arrive in Lagos on Monday night and was taken straight to the Ago palace way Project office and the Scout rested the whole of Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the first screening exercise took place at the natural grass of the main bowl and the second and third day were held at Legacy stadium astro -stuff pitch.
Monday Odiaka, ex-international who still hold the record of the fastest goal ever scored in Fifa U21 World cup, took over the brand face of the project, after Samson Siasia was dropped following the Fifa ban, then Nwankwo Kanu and John Fashanu not yet available for the project.
Over 200 individual talents as well as 10 Grassroots clubs and academies participated in the three days selection exercise. The women teams were not left out in the highly competitive screening.
Top on the block discovery, 16 years old young striker, Chibuike Okechukwu, shone like a thousand stars threatening defenders at every count to the amazement of both the Foreign scouts, local coaches and player's agents around during the program. Chibuike scored a brace in less than 20minutes of play and got everybody applauding.
Only 25 players were selected at this stage of the program. The next city is Asaba Delta state at the Stephen Keshi Stadium from September 2nd to 5th, Then Abuja, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kano... According to the project coordinator Miss Jane Ndubuisi. the scouting exercise will be held in 14 cities, then the final selection here in Lagos.
Miss Ndubuisi said the players who make the final cut will be taken straight to the project Camp in Fulham academy UK. From there players will be taken to clubs in Belgium, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany...
