Final 21-man Nigeria U23 National Team List Released, Team Depart to Egypt for Afcon U23 Tournment


Olympic Eagles head coach Imama Amapakabo has named Kelechi Nwakali, Azubuike Okechukwu, Taiwo Awoniyi and Tom Dele-Bashiru in his final 21-man squad for the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Amapakabo also named former FlyingEagles defender Valentine Ozornwafor, Austria-based winger Sunday Faleye; NPFL goal king, Ibrahim Sunusi and Orji Okonkwo in his squad.

Players and officials of the team left Abuja for Egypt on Thursday afternoon for the competition.

The Eagles will start their campaign against Cote d’l voire on November 9 at the Al Salam Stadium, Cairo.

South Africa and Zambia are the other teams in their group.

The competition will run from November 8th to November 28th.

The top three teams in the competition will represent Africa in the football event of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
