Shadows of Doubt Cast Over Imama Amapakabo

Fans continue to vent their frustrations over Imama Amapakabo inability to manage any of the Nigeria's national team... after he failed again with the Olympic Eagles in Afcon U23 tournament.

Recently, he failed with Nigeria's WAFU Cup team and Home based Eagles in CHAN qualifiers and now a serious shadows of doubts cast over Amapakabo's coaching ability.

“We were unlucky and unfortunate to go out of U23 Afcon,  because we gave everything, but it’s totally out of my hands,” Amapakabo said.

“I know that, as a coach, you come under pressure. We have to look at the future – this [Olympic hopes] has ended, whichever way we want to look at it.”

Amapakabo, a highly celebrated coach, who led Enugu Rangers to a drama NPFL title in 2016 may have thrown his well regarded profile to the muds.

"The man is full of excuses." one of the fans wrote on twitter. "So much talk for failure, he should go and hid his face."

"Imama has shown without further doubts that he lack the skills and technical ability to handle any of the national teams, SACK HIM NOW! Another fan reacted on facebook.

"Abeg make Amapakabo no near our national team again O! or we go carry placard. BAN FOR LIFE!"

Amapakabo however is aware that some set of Nigerian football fans are calling for his head after unimpressive results with the Super Eagles team B and the national U-23 side , but said he will leave his future in the hand of the Nigeria Football Federation.

“I can’t say anything now because it all depends on what the federation wants in terms of going forward.” he added.
