Super Eagles, The Eye that Sees the Future

The Emerging Players Of Nigeria National Team For 2022 FIFA World Cup

Hello, fellow Passionate and patrotic fans of Nigeria national team - Super Eagles. I know it sounds crazy making predictions of a team that will emerge for 2022 world Cup. But sometime you can get excited when you see "the signs!"

Yeah, you may never make 100% accurate predictions when it comes to selecting players for the future. And 2022 FIFA World Cup is such a long time from now (2020). We all know a lot of things can happen in football that may change the matrix. However, for planning sake we must keep extrapolating with such eyes that sees the future.

For long, we have been wishing that some of our young lads who conquered the world and won all the awards in 2013 and 2015 will eventually emerge to form a formidable Super Eagles team, our dream team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Indeed, the end of the 2019/20 season across the globe has heightened my anxiety as I saw some  of these youngsters emerging from clubs competiting in some of the top leagues. Therefore, positioning themselves to do well in the coming 2020/21 season...and progressively, improve and get ready for 2022. That's the way to think or what do you think?

These guys are young, average of 23 years, and I should say 2022 may just be the beginning of good things for Nigeria, the journey to reign and dominate world soccer.

1.  Francis Uzoho (21years) APOEL Cyprus: For me goalkeeping position isn't really a problem in Super Eagles as most people think.  As long as Uzoho is the first choice goalkeeper for his club APOEL in Cyprus, he will keep improving with time. Although, I am hoping Alampaso can up his game or other new goalkeepers may just emerge in the course of this two years.

2.Chidozie Awaziem(23years) CD Leganes: is playing regularly in the Spanish Laliga and doing well for his club. He made 26 appearances and played for the whole 90 minutes in most of the Leganes games. Although, Leganes got relegated, we hope Awaziem can still return to Porto and keep playing.

Indeed, Awaziem will have a run for his skills in the right back position of the Super Eagles team  as the likes of Semi Ajayi (26years) did so well for  Westbromich Albion (made 43 appearances this season). He was nominated for the club's POTY award.

Another player also doing well in the right back position is Ola Aina (23years) who plays for Tornio (also doing well and made 20 appearances this season).

3. Jamilu Collins (25years), SC Paderborn 07: seems to be the only natural left back now in the Super Eagles. He is also playing regular, 83 appearance since he arrived in Germany 2. Bundesliga.

However, both Semi Ajayi and Ola Aina as well as Chidozie Awaziem are utility players, to the end that the coach can switch any of them to the left back.

4. Wilfred Ndidi (23years) Leicester city: is perhaps the best player in the Super Eagles line up. He is one of the best defensive midfielder in the world today [Check His Stats].  Super regular for Leicester City and has over 120 appearances since he arrived in  2017. Ndidi should lead this set of Super Eagles team to our dream of winning the world cup in  2022

5. Kenneth Omeruo (26 years) CD Leganes: is getting more experienced and reliable at heart of Legnes central defence, made 23 appearance and even scored a goal. Omeruo is gradually forming a more formidable pairing with William Troost Ekong, but Leon Balogun is also there as  an alternative player.

6. William Troost Ekong (26 years) Udinese: is the pillar in the defense line of both his club and the Nigeria national team. Ekong made 47 appearance for his team. We may see him become the team's captain going to the world Cup in 2022.

7. Henry Onyekuru(24years) AS Monaco: have had his challenges establishing himself for both national team or his club AS Monaco. After 4 appearance was taken on Loan to Galatasaray  where he then made  7appearances and scored 1 goal in 2020. But nobody is in doubt of Onyekuru's superlative skills. Having fully recovered from injury, we are hoping Onyekuru will hit the kind of form that will put him in his rightful position in the first team of Super Eagles.

8. Kelechi Iheanacho (23years) Leicester city: rediscovered his form in the second half of the Premier League gladden the heart of many Nigerian fans. He made 20 appearances and scored 5 goals. Most of the goals were scored towards the end of the season.

Leicester City will be playing in Europa cup next season and we hope Iheanacho will come to the party. We are still hopeful Iheanacho can still become the golden boy we expected of him.

The good thing really is Iheanacho will face fierce competition in the inside right attacking midfield position with players like Ogenekaro Etebo...can be imposing as a vital stay in Gernot Rohr's first choice for that position. Yet. Alex Iwobi is also on standby. I think that will make Iheanacho to work even harder to retain the position in future.

9. Victor Osimhen (21years) OSC Lille: currently enjoying world media rave on his transfer to SSC Napoli. Osimhen hit an incredible form playing in Ligue 1 for Lille. He made  27 appearances and 13 goals and 6 assists.

Osimhen is expected to be an instant hit in Serial A for Napoli and replicate such blistering form for the Super Eagles in the coming years.

Never the less, there are other clinical finishers waiting by the side. Paul Onuachu who plays for Genk in Belgium Premier League with 20 appearances and 8 goals this season. Then his compatriot at Genk, Stephen Odey (22years) who didn't play although last season, but we all know of his capabilities.

10. Kelechi Nwakali (21years) SD Huesca: have had a lots of challenges regarding work permit, only made 2 appearances last season. But Nwakali is perhaps one creative midfielder you cannot ignore, not for a long time.

Nwakali showed so much promise as captain of the Golden Eagles and was awarded MVP of 2015 FIFA U17 World cup, which Nigeria won.

Nwakali was so good. one of the biggest player's management agency - Stellar Group, quickly came to snap him, but his career hasn't gone like expected, like his compatriot Victor Osimhen.

Now his team has qualified to play in Laliga, the stage seems set for him to showcase his superlative skills for the world to see once again.

However, Nwakali may need to do even more than a enough to earn a place as the playmaker of Super Eagles.

Joe Aribo (24years) who plays for Rangers in Scotland, has made 27appearances and scored 3 goals this season. He won award for goal of the year and Young player of the year on his debut for Rangers this season... He has also impressed coach Gernot Rohr in the few games he played for the national team.

11. Samuel Chukwueze (21years) Villareal: is one player we all expect to explode and become a super star in the coming years.

We are not only the ones thinking that way. The world acclaimed Jay Z Rock Nations Management has quickly signed him. And Chukwueze has become a Super regular for Villareal, made  37 appearances and scored 3 goals this season.

Chukwueze may become the real deal by 2022, we hope so. But he must watch his back in the Super Eagles first eleven, for the power playing Samuel Kalu (22 years)  who plays for Girondins Bordeaux.
