It helps attract international commercial partners and investors

Documentary serve as re-enforcment to reach and to engage the club's fans globally

The rich heritage of Enugu Rangers International chronicle in a documentary and distributed by Amazon Prime to showcase the club to it's global audience is what's needed to engage it's fans scattered across the world and to attract international investors.

Benson Chukwueke, CEO GreenHunters Sports International, made this expose at the Sports Marketing Round Table October2020 Edition held at the Digital Bridge Institute Oshodi Lagos.

Enugu Rangers is more than a club. It represents the unrelenting strength, entrepreneurship spirit and aspirations of the Igbo people situated in south- east Nigeria. A people known for their illustriousness, most widely traveled and spread across the globe 🌎.

There's a saying in Nigeria that there's no land in the world where you cannot find an Igbo man doing business. This is why Enugu Rangers fans cannot be totally captured within the country alone, they are widely spread abroad. And many of them has become wealthy and influential in countries like China, Japan, England, Germany, USA...even in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia... These influential fans can attract international partners and investors for the club.

Since 1970, Enugu Rangers has pride itself among the oldies, as the only club in Nigeria that hasn't tasted relegation from top flight league to a lower division.  The club has surpassed their long rivalry with IICC Shooting stars of Ibadan and today faces oriental derby with the most successful club in Nigeria, Enyimba International of ABA.

Enyimba may be the most successful club in Nigeria and situated in the same region, but Enugu Rangers remain the symbol and the darling club of the Igbo people.

Rangers has also won a lot of honours, won Nigeria Premier League: 7 times (1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1984, 2016), won Nigerian FA Cup: 6 times (1974, 1975, 1976, 1981, 1983, 2018), won Nigerian Super Cup: 1 once (2004), won African Cup Winners' Cup: 1 once (1977). Rangers had also gotten to the finals of African Cup of Champions Clubs: 1 once (1975).

The documentary isn't just intended to showcase Rangers’ on-pitch success alone. Chukwueke, who made his fortune in sports marketing consultancy, understands the power of virtual storytelling, identified the potential of an internationally-distributed documentary to promote the club and engage a new audience, particularly younger fans who may be hearing Rangers stints of such great heritage for first time around.

Perhaps, international investors may be surprised that such club with such great heritage exist here in Nigeria and may want to associate with the flying Antelopes in their next level of  success🏆💪.

Amazon Prime is the platform that is helping a lot of clubs reach it's global fans and attract investors all around the world.
