Nigeria Women Football Stakeholders Hail the Appointment of Ayo Omidiran

 


Stakeholders of women football in the country have been pouring encomiums on Nigeria Football Federation over the composition of the Women’s Football Development Committee under the leadership of Alhaja Ayo Omidiran


Club owners, managers, coaches and players who spoke to our correspondence, expressed gratitude to NFF for appointing knowledgeable and committed women to serve in the committee stressing that the members experience and dedication will lift the game in Nigeria


Former secretary of Bayelsa United football club Madam Thelma Agara says the names in the women committee are tested and proven stakeholders who would put their wealth of experience and integrity into use to develop the women football in the country


“I am particularly excited that the NFF chose Honourable Ayo Omidiran as the chair person of the committee. She aside being a pioneer women club owner, she has also been a board member of the NFF and member of FIFA and CAF committees in the past. Nigerians can count on her to lead the new committee well with Aisha Falode as vice chairman,” Agara stated.


On her part, former chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, Chief Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedinma says the appointment of Alhaja Omidiran is the right way to go in developing the game for women in the country adding that the NFF selection right with four media person who are vast in women football in the nine member committee


“I think the women football committee will raise the standard of the game in the country with Alhaja Omidiran bringing her wealth of experience and integrity to bear on the team. The NFF did very well in picking them and I wish them well. I believe they will take the women's game to greater heights if the NFF gives them maximum support,” concluded the retired FCT Director of Sports


Coach Dan Evumena, a former national coach believes that the committee will improve the game for women if given the enabling tools and environment to deliver adding that Alhaja Omidiran and her team are proven stakeholders of the women football


“I am satisfied with men and women that the NFF appointed into the committee because they are people who have dedicated so much to the game in the country. The NFF should give them the enabling environment to raise the standard to higher level” said the former coach of Delta Queens football club


Former Super Falcons skipper Evelyn Nwabuokwu also believes that the Alhaja Ayo Omidiran -led Women Football Committee will give the game a big lift with their experience and commitment to women football.


“NFF were spot on in the appointment of the nine members. They are tested and I trust them to give their appointment the best shot”
