Rabiu Ali scored his tenth of the season and Ifeanyi Eze struck the winner fifteen minutes from time as Kano Pillars came from behind to defeat Enyimba in a thrilling encounter on a day of many goals on NPFL matchday 25 on Sunday.
Enyimba had taken an early lead at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium through Victor Mbaoma and the visitors entered the break ahead before Ali’s equaliser from the spot and Eze’s winner turned things around in the second half.
Pillars who were without Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, away on national duty, now have 48 points and sole leadership of the 2020-21 Nigeria Professional Football League as they stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games. Enyimba are ten points behind in seventh although they have three games in hand.
Meanwhile, former joint leaders Akwa United fell two points behind Pillars after they were held to a 2-2 draw at 17th-placed Wikki Tourists.
Saidu Salisu and Charles Okafor scored to give visitors Akwa United a 2-1 lead after Michael Stephen’s opener for the hosts but Stephen ensured a share of the spoils with a 71st-minute equaliser.

Heartland FC played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Rivers United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium with Shedrack Ogoli twice drawing the visitors level either side of half time after goals from Chijioke Akuneto and Chukwudi Nwaodu put the hosts ahead.
And it also ended in a score draw between Abia Warriors and FC Ifeanyiubah with Warriors’ blushes spared by an own goal after Patrick Egeonu’s goal for the visitors
