Victor Boniface Set to Join Ronaldo at Al-Nassr: Medical Completed

Rumors are swirling that Nigerian international Victor Boniface is on the cusp of leaving Germany's Bayer Leverkusen for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Indications on Tuesday suggest that Boniface is nearing this significant transfer, with a deal reportedly valued at around €60 million.

Boniface has already completed his medical examinations in anticipation of the move. Should the transfer be finalized, the forward is expected to earn a lucrative €15 million net per season in the Middle East.

Reports from Germany have fueled speculation about Boniface's potential departure, especially after he was noticeably absent from evening training sessions. This absence came just before Bayer Leverkusen's UEFA Champions League match against Sparta Prague on Wednesday.

Confirmation from Xabi Alonso

Leverkusen's current manager, Xabi Alonso, has confirmed the ongoing negotiations between the German club and Al-Nassr, where football icon Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays. Alonso stated, "The situation with Boniface does exist. Negotiations are ongoing with the club, so we have to wait. Our preparation for the match remains the same."

He added, "We prepared for the game without Boni, of course. We still have to wait a little longer to see how the situation unfolds."

The Spanish coach also expressed the need for club activity in the transfer window, noting injuries within the team. "After Jeanu Belocian and Martin Terrier's injuries, we already said that we need to be active in the transfer window. Three days remain, and we are so close to a decision."

Despite the uncertainty, Alonso remains optimistic about the squad's readiness and morale, stating, "I am and I will be happy with the squad regardless. Until now, all players feel that they are ready and they are an important part of the team."

The 24-year-old Boniface recently returned from injury, appearing on the bench during Leverkusen's 2-2 draw with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Prior to his injury in November 2024, Boniface had scored eight goals in 15 games across all competitions.

Last season, Boniface emerged as a vital asset for Leverkusen, netting 14 goals in 23 league appearances. His impressive performance helped secure Leverkusen's first Bundesliga title, establishing him as their top scorer.

At Al-Nassr, Boniface is set to replace Anderson Talisca, who has recently transferred to Fenerbahce. As Boniface prepares for a new chapter in his career, fans eagerly await the official announcement of his move to join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
