Remember Isaac Success, ‘Nigeria’s Goal Scoring Machine’- this is How He Looks Now | In For 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup, New Zealand – Watch Out!
Remember Isaac Success? The guy who scored ‘hundreds
of goals during the qualifiers,' but got injured at the very first-two games of
the 2013 FIFA U16 World cup in UAE. Everyone thought he would have been the
revelation of the tournament, but Kelechi Iheanacho stole the show after all; perhaps,
due to his injury.
Success has been out of the spotlight since then,
especially after Taiwo Awoniyi took over the striking role as a perfect
replacement for him. Today, Awoniyi is become the main ace of the team and the
fans favorite; so much as hardly anyone could ever remember the lethal goal
scoring prowess of Success.
The late inclusion of ‘Nigeria’s goal scoring
machine’ into the final list of Flying Eagles team for the 2015 FIFA U20 World
Cup in New Zealand brought back those memories of his outstanding performance
in 2012 and 2013.
How is Success now? Fans wonder if his late
inclusion wasn’t out of sentiment. Not much can be said about his present form,
only that he was the Andalusia’s youngest player in Spanish La Liga, where he
is on loan with Granada. He made 19 appearances and was only able to score one
goal his team.
We also knew
his recovery from the knee injury had been slow. But if Success is half as good
as we knew him to be, then Nigeria’s opponent at the U20 world cup are in big
trouble.
Well, no matter how sharp Success’ skill may look
now, he cannot displace Taiwo Awoniyi as
the first choice striker for the Nigeria’s U20 side. However, Head Coach, Manu
Garba, may use him as a ‘joker’ or Super-sub or perhaps, a match winner for his
team.
