Enugu Rangers have emerged as the champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League for the 2015/16 season.

Wikki Tourists and Rivers United who were all in the hunt for the league shield also failed to get the desired results in their respective games.

While Wikki lost 1-0 in Ibadan against Shooting Stars, Rivers United lost the initiative as they could only play a barren draw at home against Abia Warriors.

Rangers with the win in Abeokuta have an unassailable 60 points.
