Nigeria Fans and Ex-Internationals Demand Africa Footballer of the Year Award for Victor Moses

Following his superlative performances in the 2016/17 season for both club and country,  Nigeria fans and some ex-international demand Glo/caf African footballer of the year Award for Victor Moses; as he prepare to go in for surgery.

The Nigerian star has enjoyed a fantastic season for Chelsea and has played key role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation scoring 4 goals and 6 assist from unusual wing back position; which led the blues to win the trophy and became champions of premier league this season.

Two times Award winner and former African footballer of the year, Nwankwo Kanu said:
“Moses has proved critics wrong. It is now left for CAF to do their rating, As for me, he deserves the 2017 CAF award. "

"Although, he may have to continue impressing for club in  the new season and country during both the world cup and Afcon qualifiers all through the next half of the year to get the votes he truly deserve."

Another former African Footballer of year award winner Victor Ikpeba said: "Moses has his greatest chance of winning the award this season. Though, the likes of Aubamayang and Sadio Mane are strong contenders, but I still have a strong belief the Nigerian playmaker will eventually cart away the award."

Celestine Babayaro, another Nigerian ex-international and former Chelsea player said: "Conte has greatly transformed the way Victor Moses play the game and his performance this season has surprised almost everyone. He truly deserve to be the next African footballer of the year despite that Nigeria didn' t participate at last Afcon tournament."

Cosmos Obichere, a trader at Aspander Trade fair complex Badagary expressway Lagos and an ardent Chelsea  fan,  has this to say:
“Despite playing out of position at Chelsea, Victor Moses still finds it easy to break opponents’ defence with ease and if he keeps this fitness alive all through out the year, I see him becoming the next African footballer of the year.”

"One thing I fear for him is injury. Victor Moses is injury prone and I hear he is going for surgery and it may take sometime before he recovers....that may affect his form for the rest of the year."

Another Chelsea supporter, Buba Ahmed from Jos Plateau said: "Whether Victor Moses is able to play again this year or not, he already played better in the 2016/17 Season, which is the period considered for the Award. As for me, the race for the African Player of the year award is between Victor Moses and Wilfred Ndidi, another Nigerian youngster that shone like a thousand stars for Leicester city this season"
