A New Dawn In Heartland: New GM Speak Of His Plan to Make Club Buoyant And Financially Self- Reliant
"My Vision is to Make Heartland Buoyant and Financially Self Reliant" - New GM, Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi
Newly appointed General Manager of Heartland, Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi, has told our correspondent that the club under his watch will strive for self reliance, generate funds and depend less on the government of Imo State, in line with governor Emeka Ihedioha’s drive for improved internally generated revenue (IGR).
“I’ve two football academies in Lagos. Some players from those academies are now playing big time professional football in Hungary with big clubs over there,” starts the new Heartland helmsman.
“This is the kind of business vision I want to bring into the running of Heartland.
“Heartland as a club is a brand, and I want to sustain that, perhaps, improve on it and leverage on that to attract investors to do business with the club.
“With such business partnership with foreign and corporate investors, Heartland would become self sufficient, or at least close to that.
“By so doing, the club would have reduced government financial burden on it and as well bring some kind of revenue to the government through internally generated revenue which is one of the cardinal policy of the Governor Emeka Ihedioha’s administration in the state.”
Chief Ifeanyi told Ccorrespondent that his regime is also aimed at replicating the glory days of the once dreaded Naze Millionaires and appealed to the team’s supporters to be patient and stand solidly behind the club as the club undergo their transformation, and rebranding process.
“The era of celebrating trophy success is on the way back. All that is needed is support from all Imolites and supporters of the club.”
