Oghenekaro Etebo Joins Spanish La Liga Side Getafe, on 6 Months Loan Deal
Nigeria
midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has joined Spanish Laliga club Getafe on a six-month loan
deal from Sky Bet Championship side, Stoke City.
Getafe can
also make the move permanent at the end of the season with a purchase
option included in the deal.
The
LaLiga outfit was keen on bringing the powerful midfielder to Spain
in 2018 but Etebo opted for a move to Stoke City.
Getafe manager
Jose Bordalas is keen to bring in a replacement for the retiring
Markel Bergara and Etebo is seen as the perfect man to fill the void.
“Following
the agreement between Stoke City and Getafe CF, Oghenekaro
Peter Etebo arrives on loan until the end of the season with a purchase
option,”reads a statement on the club’s website.
”The
new Azulon player passed the relevant examinations at the Cemtro clinic by Dr.
Pedro Guillen.”
Etebo
have been presented to the fans today Thursday, January 9, 2020 .
The
24-year-old has not been able to make any meaningful impact this term for
Stoke City, and has seen his season plagued by injuries and lack of game
time even when fit.
Etebo
previously played in the Spanish top-flight, featuring 14 times for Las Palmas
in the 2017/18 season.
