Which Are Super Eagles Best Striking Duo

 

Over the years, Nigeria has produced great players, or should I say legends like jay-jay Okocha, Kanu-Nwankwo, Mikel Obi, etc. These men did great exploits in the football world playing for high tier clubs such as Arsenal, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, and so on, and Nigeria has continued to produce great players like Samuel Chukweze, who plays for Villarreal, Alex Iwobi, who plays for Everton, William Troost-Ekong who plays for Watford and many more. 

Now we can stay all day and talk about these fantastic attackers, defenders, and midfielders, but that's not why we were here. Instead, let us discuss players who the team depend on to score goals, I mean strikers! Yes, strikers, especially these four Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho, Simeon (Simy) Nwankwo and Paul Onuachu. 

Now, why these four because they have shown great form playing for their teams this season, plus why wouldn't we, I mean common, isn't it interesting to know, and when I say see, I'm trying to say, knowing who is the better striking duo for Nigeria or the super eagles at the moment. 

KELECHI IHEANACHO and VICTOR OSIMHEN:

As of this season 2020/21, these two have been on top form, scoring in almost all their matches, with a combined goal tally of 24 goals. However, Kelechi Iheanacho has scored more goals [16] with [5]Assist than Victor Osimhen with [8] goals and [1] Assist.

Though we can't blame Victor Osimhen for not having scored that much goals this season, because he did have multiple issues like the coronavirus he caught during his visit back home in Nigeria as well as dislocated shoulder and a few more. 

I picked these two because they seem like the perfect pair. Osimhen with his height, quick pace and speed, then his work rate with and without the ball, which is his good striking ability, 

Iheanacho, on the other hand has superb left foot, experience, good passing knowledge, etc. without a doubt these two can very much help the super eagles to win lots of games and let's not forget that they are both young: Kelechi Iheanacho is 24, and Victor Osimhen is 22 years old, so there's lots of room for improve.

SIMEON NWANKWO and PAUL ONUACHU 

Now these two also have shown good form for their clubs[ 17] goals for the Crotone man Simy Nwankwo, with[ 4] assists even though his team is facing relegation. 

A whopping 31 goals for Genk striker Paul Onuachu with [ 2]assists what an incredible form these men have shown this season. 

These two share great striking instinct at the penalty box, both tall and powerful, so it will be tough to get the ball out of their legs of these men. Now that we have written all this, it's safe to say that Simy Nwankwo and Paul Onuachu are the better duos considering their performance, but that doesn't mean we can write off the first two because honestly if I had a choice to pick, I think I'll go with Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho.

I wonder if you agree with my choice? Although, statistics isn't in their favor, Yet I still think they have the right chemistry. We can as we'll say the season isn't over, so things can change. However, I doubt the few matches remaining will change anything. 

It won't be long before we see the Super Eagles in action, then we get to see the preferred strikers.
