Daylight Robbery: Referee Robbed Guinea Bissau In A Controversial Group D Game Against Egypt [AFCON 2021 Break Out]

 

Guinea Bissau has been robbed from salvaging a draw against Egypt, as referee cancelled a beautiful goal scored by Mama Balde.

In the build up to the goal, Balde was with the ball and successfully dribbled the Egyptian player who turned his back and first held Balde by the shots and in trying to pull away the Bissau midfielder push the Egyptian defender by the shoulder and went on to score a beautiful goal outside the eighteen yard box. 

Balde thought he had scored with a screamer from a tight angle to level in the 82nd but the referee, after consulting the pitchside monitor, decided he was the one that fouled the Egyptian defender. Something that will remain a matter for debate by most spectators who saw the incident. 

Indeed, the Burundian referee, Pacifique Ndabihawenimana, seems to be the twelfth man in the Egyptians team. Even Salah's goal have some question as to where he was coming from before he received the ball and volleyed it for the only goal of the match. 

It was again at the referee's discretion to decide whether it was offside, but he approved it as a good goal. 

For me, I feel Mama Balde's goal was also a good goal and should have been approved after the VAR check or what do you think?
