Is It Mohammed Salah or Sadio Mane - Who is the Very Best African Player Right Now?

It is not that easy to choose?? Mohammed Salah may have won PFA player of the year2021/22 with Sadio Mane also a key player in that same Liverpool team. But back in Africa, the story is slightly different.

Mane has led Senegal to edge out Egypt both in the African Cup of nations final and the World Cup playoffs, that may just be the defining moments for deciding the next CAF African player of the year 2022 or What do you think?

Mohamed Salah

The winner of the PFA Player of the Year in 2021/22, Salah was exceptional as Liverpool won both domestic cups and finished as runners-up in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Egyptian scored 31 goals in 51 games in all competitions. A devastating finisher, he's also a magician in tight areas and can beat defenders with either pace or trickery.

There was disappointment at the Cup of Nations and in the World Cup play-offs, and that has put a question mark in  Salah's status as Africa's best player rightnow

 Sadio Mane

Senegal's star player has been magnificent throughout this year, both for club and country and he will be sorely missed by Jurgen Klopp's side next season.

In many ways Mane is the perfect fit for Klopp's Liverpool: hard-working, energetic, dynamic and a superb technical footballer.  Mane Scored 21 goals and 18 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions - 16 in the Premier League and 5 in the champions league.

Mane is such a great leader, as he demonstrated at both the Africa Cup of Nations success and in Senegal's World Cup qualification campaign. You cannot just deny him the African Player of the Year Award this time around.
