Marcelo bid an emotional farewell to Real Madrid and the club’s fans on Monday after fifteen years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Marcelo, through tear-filled eyes, declared Real Madrid as the “greatest club in the world”. He won an incredible 25 trophies during his 15 years at the Bernabeu.
As the room began to grow more and more emotional, Marcelo declared that this was not “goodbye” as he did not feel like he was leaving Real Madrid.
The 34-year-old is set to become a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid on June 30.
Marcelo joined Real Madrid from Fluminense in January 2007.
The Brazilian has developed into one of the best modern-day full-backs during his time at Los Blancos.
He made 546 appearances, scored 38 goals and provided 103 assists for Real Madrid, winning six La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, and five Champions League titles.
Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, was left emotional as Marcelo announced his departure in a press conference, teammates, backroom staff, everyone tearing.
