2013 TRIAL CAMP IN LAGOS: Four Reasons It Pays to Sponsor This Football Event

Roger Bongaerts will be at the Trial Camp Lagos.

By June 2013, we’re expecting about 300 football players to be in camp for a 2 weeks trials and selection process in Lagos Nigeria. GreenHunters Sports International came up with this event so that Nigerian players wouldn’t need to travel abroad into some Academy or trial camp programs to get Scouts to notice them. It’s far cheaper to get the coaches, Agents and Scouts to come over to Nigeria and get more football players involved in the selection process.

We found out that many of our talented football players don’t have the necessary finances to travel abroad for trial camps. And some of them aren’t that exposed to know what it takes to succeed in such programs. So we found ourselves in many wasted ventures as most of the players we took abroad couldn’t get the Scouts interest.

Don’t get it wrong, these players are very talented, I can tell you that, but they get overwhelmed by the conditions they found themselves in the trial camps abroad.  Perhaps, you may not understand how these things play out.

But, we’ve decided to bring in a foreign coach, who’s an expert in Youth development and trial programs, to help prepare the players at the trial camp. Roger Bongaerts, founder of “Total Soccer Method” and Head coach at VVV. Venlo Youth development program in Netherlands, has agreed to be part of the 2 weeks trial camp in Lagos.

Christian Omlor, A FIFA licensed Agent /Scout for Schlke’04 and Ajax Amsterdam will also be present. We are in the process of getting Cristina Bermudez, a sport consultant with Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid and Seville… to see if she can be part of the event.

1.     Your Company can be part of the Sponsorship. That is if you want to establish association with this segment of the market. It’ll expose your products to football consumers and the public at large.

2.     Maybe, you are looking at establishing a stronger community relationship and increased awareness for your brands. Nothing gets the interest of Nigerian locals as Youth football development programs such as this.

3.     It’ll naturally get the interest and involvement of Nigeria media. But, we’re looking at inviting Super Sports and Complete Sports Newspapers to also cover the event.

4.     This may be that program you are looking for, to establish such goodwill with your customers and cause an increase loyal patronage for your brands.
