The inability of the able body Athletes to deliver may be a
good reason to give more attention to the physically challenged Nigerian
paralympians who severally have displayed extraordinary abilities. Especially
in their heroic performances at the just concluded paralympic games in Rio.
2016.
While the able body athletes
struggled all through Rio Olympics in August, would have returned empty handed if not for the one
miserable Bronze Medal won by the men's football team. The physically
challenged won a total of 12 medals - 8Gold, 2Silvers and 2 Bronze.
It got me thinking, I don't know
about you.
Most countries of the world would
rather promote their strength and use it to cover their weakness. The
paralympic athletes have severally shown over the recent years that in them
lies the Nigerian strength. They have done the country proud in various
sporting events ... doing what the able bodied athletes cannot do for Nigeria.
We can use these paralympians to
brand Nigeria in a specially way. Take for instance, the power lifters, their
extraordinary display of strength and power... Never you ever think that the
paralympics is easier. It was also a global competition in their category...
very challenging
