Popular Side Poll Predict Award Winners - World, African and Nigeria Footballer of the Year 2016

Popular side usually present the opinion of football fans in Nigeria concerning any major issue of interest through public opinion polls/ voting conducted online by GreenHunters Sports International.

We believe that fans (who are major consumers of the sport) are in better position to choose the award winners rather than coaches and National team Captains or otherwise. As it is said, he who eats the pudding can tell the taste better.

Arguably, it may fall short of technical expectations, but we believe the reason for such awards is to encourage players to put in their best, and the end goal is to inspire fans patronage...so they should have the right to decide winners through public voting regime or what do you think?

It is on this premise that we set up an opinion poll on CheerOnNigeria blog after the list of nominees for both Ballon d'Or and CAF Awards were published in most media outlets across the world and Africa. Of course it becomes easier to know the major nominees for Nff award; which should be majorly the same players nominated at the CAF level.

The result we got were phenomenal. Apart from the voting poll on our blog which 10, 251 responded, we had to start a hashtag on twitter where over 20 Nigerian and international journalists following Inspire Football also gave their opinion with Stats.
