Super Eagles Call Up List for World Cup Qualifier Against Cameroon - Kayode Dropped, Mikel, Ighalo Recalled....


Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is considering dropping Girona striker Kayode Olanrewaju for the crucial 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in early September. An insider source revealed to us that the former Nigeria U-17s and U-20s striker’s inactivity this new season could be the reason why he may be dropped..

Rohr will this week release a 28-man squad for the September 1 and September 4 clashes, with five of them on stand-by.

Dropped
Kayode joined Manchester City last week and got loaned out immediately to LaLiga newcomers Girona, for whom he played only a few minutes in their season-opening draw with Atletico Madrid on Sunday.


Also expected to be dropped are Victor Osimhen, Maroof Yusuf and Kenneth Omeruo, who has been inactive as he awaits a decision on his next step at Chelsea.

Called Up
The players expected in the squad include goalkeepers Dele Alampasu, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi, who was heavily blamed for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier home defeat to South Africa in June.


Other players are Tyronne Ebuehi, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Elderson Echiejile, Shehu Abdulahi, Chidozie Awaziem, Odion Ighalo, Mikel Obi, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, and John Ogu.

Anthony Nwakaeme, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi are also expected to be in the squad.

Stand By
Henry Onyekuru, Uche Agbo, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Ibrahim Alhassan are expected to be placed on stand-by.
