Victor Agali, Off On A Mission to Spy Croatia and Iceland
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr says he is counting
on his scouts led by his former player Victor Agali to give him the lowdown
about the Croatian national team ahead of the World Cup.
Rohr want to know Croatian match tactics and key
individual players that make up the team. Agali is very experienced in team
scouting and I know he will furnish us with technical make up as well as the
psychology of the team.
We will also be relying on Agali and his team of
scouts to give us technical details of Iceland. Argentina is already a well
known foe.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s first World Cup opponents have
been snooping around for information about the three-time African champs, with
head coach Zlatko Dalić sending his trusted scout Ognjen Vukojević to watch the
Super Eagles pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia in March.
Dalić has also admitted that he is monitoring the
performances of key Super Eagles players such as Victor Moses, Kelechi
Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi for their respective clubs ahead of the 2018 World
Cup.
Croatia will open their FIFA World Cup campaign on
June 16 against Nigeria and obviously they want to get a win, they will also
face Iceland, the team that beat them to automatic qualification, and two-time
world champions Argentina in Group D.
