Guinea Vs Nigeria: The Game Plan for Wednesday's AFCON Group B Encounter

Syli Nationale of Guinea are aware if they lose or draw against Nigeria, Burundi may Swallow them up in the last game. But Super Eagles smoking with more confidence, may unleash a game plan that could throw the Guineans off balance.

Guinea head coach Paul Put has stated that his side must play a perfect game plan if they are to come out with a win against Nigeria in Wednesday’s Group B encounter at the Alexandria Stadium

The West Africans held Barea of Madagascar to a 2-2 draw in their first game on Saturday in Alexandria. Guinea had to rely on Francois Kamano’s 66th minute penalty to earn a share of the spoils against the debutants.

A defeat against the Super Eagles could dampen the Guineans’ hopes of making it beyond the group stage, and Put is eager to see his side come out unscathed in the game.

“To tackle the match against Nigeria, now, we must analyze the first game, correct the mistakes we made against Madagascar. We must utilise our opportunities against Nigeria, but they will not give much either. If we give gifts to Nigeria, it will be complicated,” Put was quoted by Guineenews.org.

What Possible Tactical Game Plan Would Guinea Adopt
It will be Suicidal for Guinea to come all out to attack Nigeria. So, they may not take caution to the winds, Perhaps, early attack and retire back to defend. Maybe, try again at the start and probably towards the end of the second half, depending on the scoreline then.

Guinea will likely play a very causcious game, 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, building a perfect defemsive network as well as perfect counter-attacks.

What Possible Tactical Game plan Will Nigetia Adopt
"Usually opening games are like swimming in a dark freezing waters. But we've broken the ice now, I think we have a progressive team that can do a lot better than the game against Burundi. I think they can put a lot more into the game against Guinea, if need be." Gernot Rohr feeling more confident.

Super Eagles of Nigeria after a 1-0 win against the Swallows of Burundi on Saturday, have more liberty to experiment a little adventurous on their attacking prowess. A team that selected over six in form attackers, may want to use pace and creativity to burn out the Guinean side. Although, the head coach of the Nigerian side usually favor a 4-5-1 tactical formation, but I think he will just go for the kill against Guinea. He is more likely to adopt 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 formation.

The match will kick-off on Wednesday June 26, by3.30 pm Nigerian time.
