Jo Bonfere Hint Super Eagles Coach On How to Win in AFCON 2019

Jo Bonfrere former Nigeria U23 Dream team coach that won Olympics gold medal in Atlanta 96. He was also Clemence Westerhof's able assistant when Super Eagles won the nations cup in 1994 and the world cup.

Bonfrere hint Gernot Rohr on how to play to win,  going forward in the African cup of Nation in Egypt.

Bonfere wondered at the irony of Rohr selection, 5 strikers and 7 attacking midfielders, yet playing a formation that doesn't bring out the strength of the team. With His selection you would have taught he plan to play a re-enforced attacking formation 3-4-2-1 or 4-3-3 at the least.

"The job of a coach is to teach his players how to play, create chances and how to score goals. You don’t score, you don’t win."

"The Super Eagles have great players in the team, but there is no cohesion. No tactical flexibility to change match rendition when it is not going as planned. What are the alternative plans when an opponent begin to play defensively."

“Burundi match, one goal; Guinea, one goal. Madagascar came, and Super Eagles goals dried up, its not okay.

Rohr must device some tactical formation that will bring out the team's strength. Maybe, playing 4-3-2-1 may surcharge the team.

"The present Super Eagles make up have very pacy attackers that can take on fast break on the counter before the opponent reorganise their defence formation."

"You need a playmaker who can link these players to take the defense line on the run from both wings. You have Ahmed Musa  Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo, very pacy players to develop a clear counter attack plans. "

"You also have very clinical finishers like Henry Onyekuru and Victor Osihmen, but the coach haven't been able to use them."
