Two of the biggest names in world football at the moment are set to go head-to-head in a mouthwatering clash in the UEFA Champions League semifinals.


But looking at the pedigree of both clubs, you could say if history has any part to play in this semi final clash, then the odds favours Real Madrid to progress into the finals. 


While Manchester City is still chasing to win the champions League for the first time, after loosing narrowly  0 - 1 against Chelsea last year's final, now they face the real big test against Madrid.


Real Madrid is UEFA Champions League real deal. Played in the champions League semi final 15 times and lost only 3 times. Played in the finals 12 times, lost only 3 times and won the trophy 9 times - a little frightening, eh?

And it was Real Madrid’s main man Karim Benzema who inspired the 3 - 1 comeback against PSG with a breathtaking 16-minute hat-trick at the Santiago Bernabeu. In case of the quarter finals against Chelsea, real Madrid was risen from the dead as the television commentator puts it. from 0 - 3 to a 2 - 3 come back, aggregate of 5 - 4 win.


with Luka Modric and Karim Benzema in the team, who know what magic they will perform in the semi final games against Manchester City.


The Benzema factor cannot be played down. The French international is in blisting form for his club this season, scoring 12 goals so far in the Champions League and a total of 39 goals this season. Many pundits has said Benzema will be Ballon d'Or winner this season.
