Nigeria vs Chile in A Make or Mar Group B Decider Game - 2022 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in India

Nigeria's Flamingos will be playing Chile in the final group game that should be a decider for both teams in the ongoing 2022 FIFA U17 World Cup in India.

Germany top Group B with 6 points going into the final group game against New Zealand. Then, Nigeria and Chile has 3 points with goal difference of +3 and -4 respectively. Both games will be played at the time on Monday October 17, by 12 :00 GMT+

Flamingos head coach Bankole Olowookere says the team is now fully focused on this next game against Chile.

“We will approach the game against Chile the same way we did against Germany and New Zealand,” coach Olowookere said.

“This match is a step to the next stage or a step out of the competition and so we have to be a lot more careful.

“We will be cautious but be more focused and determined.”

The Flamingoes ought to have put away the New Zealand game long before they did, but for lack of quality in their finishing.

The coach maintained he is not disturbed by the poor marksmanship because it is expected at this level of the game.

“These are young players coming up so such things are expected as part of their development,” he said.

“What was more important is that they have been creating the chances.”

The West Africans started their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Germany. But got their campaign back on track with a comprehensive 4-0 win against New Zealand on Friday afternoon.

They now occupy second position in the group and need only a draw against the Chileans to scale through to the knockout round.

Nigeria have reached the U17 World Cup quarterfinal thrice, but a looking at going all out to win the trophy this time.
