2017 African Cup of Nation Draw - Which is Your Group of Death?
Confederation of African football (CAF) flagship tournament the African Cup of Nations will take place in Gabon next January 2017.
A key process in the lead up to the tournament is the group draw which ttook place today in Gabon at the Stade de l’Amitie in the capital, Libreville, where teams got to know who they will face when the tournament finally kicks off.
Some analysts believe that Group D is actually the group of death including the most susuccessful country in the tournament Egypt, three time champions Ghana and Mali as well as Uganda.
Another difficult group may be Group B involving two of the best ranked African teams at the moment Algeria and Tunisia as well as the re-emerging Senegal team.
However, none of the group can be said to be easy as the host country Gabon is pitch in Group A against stalwart like Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau
Remember, Cote Ivory is the current champions and is this time pitched in Group C against not too easy DR Congo, Morocco and Togo. You can also recall that Nigeria did not qualify for the 2015 edition after winning in 2013... and will also be missing in action for the second time running in the 2017 edition.
