Nigeria Vs Serbia Talking Point: What Do You Think About the Match?
International Friendly Matches are good! It gives our national team handlers a way to assess what is before them and also gives Nigeria fans good previews of the capability of their national team Super Eagles.
The world cup proper is far higher and competitive than the African qualifiers, that is already showing in the friendly games.
The Eagles of Serbia could have easily scored more goals against Nigeria. Well, the referee disallowed what would have been a clear goal if their was a Goal Line Technology (GLT) or Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in place. That would have made the scoreline 0 - 3.
You may say the result didn' t matter! Yeah, you are right, the winning mentality of our pafriendlies may have also given Nigerian team and fans false hope. We would have seen Super Eagles win most of their warm up games, but not a single match in the World Cup proper.
I don' t think Super Eagles measured up well in the match against Poland and Serbia... Only Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Moses, Leon Balogun and Francis Uzoh, the young goalkeeper, were able to up their game a little bit.
The team play and flow of the game was largely uncoordinated and didn't show any pattern..
May be you saw the game differently, let us read your commentary...your opinion, suggestions or recommendations matters and are highly need here.
